Build the small version first.
Trekpole is being used as a compact prototype platform: model the components, solve packaging constraints, print the enclosure, wire a basic electrical system and learn from the physical result before adding complexity.
Prototype logic
The first version intentionally uses simple AA batteries, a 3157 LED and a latching switch. Charging, advanced power electronics and final materials can come later. The purpose of the first object is to expose geometry, ergonomics, wiring and assembly problems as cheaply as possible.
